Crochet Easter Basket - Free Pattern

 

Measurements: 

Size: approx. 19cm wide x 13cm tall

 

Materials:

- Yarn – Make and Create Super Soft Chunky Yarn
- 1x 200g ball Frappe 
- Hook – 10mm  
- Scissors 
- Yarn Needle

 

Notes:

- Patterns written in UK Terms. 
- Pattern is worked in the round.

 

Abbreviations:

SS – Slip stitch
MR – Magic ring
DC – Double crochet
HTR – Half treble crochet
INC - 2 or more stitches in the same stitch
*- Repeat from
( ) – Anything in ( ) work as many times as stated. 
STS – Number of stiches
FLO – Front loop only

 

Tension:

9 stitches x 8 rows (4 inch square) with the double crochet stitch

 

Pattern:

 

Start with a MR

Round 1: 6dc into the ring, pull tight [6 sts]
Round 2: (dc inc) x 6 [12 sts]
Round 3: (dc, dc inc) x 6 [18 sts] 
Round 4: (2dc, dc inc) x 6 [24 sts] 
Round 5: (3dc, dc inc) x 6 [30 sts] 
Round 6: (4dc, dc inc) x 6 [36 sts]
Round 7: (5dc, dc inc) x 6 [42 sts] 
Round 8: (6dc, dc inc) x 6 [48 sts]
Round 9: *skip 1, dc inc in the v of the dc below (see pic below); repeat from * 47 more times [48 sts]

Rounds 10 – 16: Repeat round 9.

Don’t tie off.

Handle

Now working the handle and your yarn still attached, chain 36.

Round 17: Working in the 2nd chain from the hook, htr along the chain [35 sts]

Now you will work round half of your basket and join the handle to the other side.

Round 18: Flo, 23ss, (now ss into flo of next stitch and the other end of your handle) x2, (see pic below), 23ss [48 sts]

Break yarn and sew ends in.
