3 Ingredient Rice Krispie Easter Nest Recipe

Watch the steps below.

Ingredients

90g unsalted butter

5 mars bars (or chocolate bar of your choice)

120g of rice krispies

Mini eggs for decoration (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Melt the Butter

Add your butter to a pan and stir on a low heat until melted.

Step 2: Add in Your Chocolate

Add in your chocolate bars, chopped into small chunks, and mix with the butter until melted and combined.

Step 3: Mix in the Rice Krispies

Take it off the heat and add your rice krispies. Mix until fully coated. You can even mix it up and swap out the rice krispies for a different small, crunchy cereal. We recommend rice krispies, cornflakes, and shredded wheat!

Step 4: Form the Nests

Scoop out spoonfuls of your mixture and divide equally into cupcake cases. This mixture should make between 6 and 12 depending on the size of your cases and how full you want each to be.

Step 5: Let them Set

Allow the nests to set at room temperature for a couple of hours, or pop them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes if you’re in a hurry. Once the chocolate has hardened, the nests are ready to be enjoyed!

Tips for Success

- Variety in Chocolate: Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate. Milk, dark, or white chocolate all work wonderfully in this recipe.

- Hidden Ingredient: For an extra sweet chocolate nest, add in 1 tablespoon of golden syrup to your mixture. Not only is it perfect for adding an extra sweet dimension to these little treats, the syrup helps to combine the mixture and give it a sticky coating.

- Additional Toppings: For an extra festive touch, add two mini eggs to the top of your nests before they set. It's an extra treat for you and makes them have a more authentic look and feel.

- Storage: Store any leftover nests in an airtight container at room temperature. They’ll stay fresh for up to a week – if they last that long!
