When it comes to the card, there’s nothing more thoughtful than putting your own spin on things, it’s far more personal than sending a generic card bought from the shop.
So, if you’d like to have a go at creating your own cards but are unsure where to start, we’ve put together a simple 8-step guide that gives you everything you need to create a beautiful Christmas tree card!
How To Make Your Own Christmas Tree Card
Supplies
To make your own Christmas tree card, you’re going to need some materials and a few pieces of equipment:
Materials
- - Tree card and envelopes
- - Lightbulb Charms
- - Pompoms
- - Gold Merry Christmas embellishment
Equipment
- - Glue gun
- - Sharpie
- - A pencil
Instructions
Step One
For the design of the cards, you won’t need to do any more than open the packaging! Our Christmas tree cards are already cut to shape to give you a helping hand. Perfect if you're new to the crafting scene!
Step Two
Take one of your “Merry Christmas” embellishments and peel off the plastic from the sticker on the back.
Step Three
Next, place the embellishment in the middle of your tree at a slight angle. Once you’re happy where it sits, press it down to secure it in place.
Step Four
Now it’s time to draw your Christmas tree lights! Take a pencil and sketch out 3 three light wires, being sure to leave enough room to later fix your lightbulbs underneath each wire. It’s important to draw the lines in pencil first because they can be corrected if you make a mistake! Once your pencil lines are drawn, carefully go over them using a black sharpie.
Step Five
Switch on your glue gun to heat the glue stick. Once it’s ready, add a small glue blob from your gun, evenly spaced along one of your sharpie lines. Then, quickly take a lightbulb for each blob and fix them before the glue dries. The glue likes to dry quickly, so make sure you act fast! But remember, the glue from the gun can become very hot, so always think about safety first!
Step Six
Repeat the process on each sharpie line. This will create the illusion of Christmas tree lights decorating your tree.
Step Seven
Grab a handful of small pompoms and arrange them on your tree to make it extra pretty. Then fix these down with either, your glue gun, glue dots or PVA glue.
Step Eight
Give the glue a little bit of time to dry, and then you’ll be all done! Don’t forget to include a sweet Christmas card message too!
Wrapping it up
It’s almost that time again to send your friends, family, and co-workers a good’ol Christmas card. But this time around, skip the card shops and put your own spin on things!
